Using LastPass to Remember Passwords

Logo_lastpass1

LastPass is a very easy-to-use online password manager and form filler.  It supports all platforms on all major browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).  There are native apps for all major smartphone OSs (iOS, Android, WebOS, Symbian).  You can even setup LastPass Portable on a USB key.

LastPass can also generate secure passwords and fill forms with preset data from “profiles”.  So, whenever I have to fill out a lengthy form I simply press the LastPass icon in the browser toolbar and choosing “Fill Form.”

Having it on my iPhone is also really handy!

Mobile support requires a “Premium” membership, which costs $1/mo.

LastPass has really improved my experience on the web… especially on these shared college computer lab computers.  First time on one of those, I install the LastPass extension, log in, and I’ve automatically got access to all my sites!  Painless.

Pithos Ubuntu Pandora Client

I’m really loving Pithos on Ubuntu 10.04 for my desktop client for Pandora!

It is plain, simple and easy to use.  Thumbs up and thumbs down are access via the right click menu as “Love song” and “Ban song,” respectively.  As far as I can tell, it is not possible to edit a station from the app, but everything else is covered.  No more Flash, extra browser tab, and ads!

To install:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kevin-mehall/pithos-daily
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install pithos
